Itinerary

This 6-day, 5-night Jewish Heritage Tour of Andalusia traces the Sephardic legacy across southern Spain. From Ronda to Seville, Lucena, Córdoba, Jaén, and Granada, you’ll explore historic Jewish quarters, synagogues, and cultural landmarks that tell the story of Andalusia’s rich Jewish past.

Private transfer from Málaga to Ronda, where you’ll enjoy a private visit focused on the city’s Jewish heritage — a fascinating journey through history. Rather than grand monuments (many of which were lost or transformed over time), this visit is about reconstructing the memory of Ronda’s Sephardic community through its streets, ancient walls, and the stories brought to life by your guide. After the visit, continue to your hotel in Seville.

In Seville, the tour focuses on the Santa Cruz neighbourhood, once the city’s Jewish quarter. Strolling through its narrow streets, such as Calle de la Judería and Callejón del Agua, retraces the original layout of the medieval Jewish district.

A highlight of the visit is discovering Seville’s former synagogues — once important centres of worship, now churches: Santa María la Blanca, San Bartolomé, and Santa Cruz. The tour concludes at Calle Susona, where you’ll hear the legend of La Susona, one of Seville’s most poignant tales from its Jewish past.

Once known as “The Pearl of Sepharad,” Lucena was one of the few cities in Spain that was almost entirely Jewish. Unlike elsewhere, there was no separate quarter — the whole city was the Jewish quarter.

Our tour explores Lucena’s rich Sephardic past through key sites like the Jewish Necropolis, the Moral Castle and Archaeological Museum, and the Church of San Mateo, believed to stand on the site of the former Great Synagogue.

– Accommodation in 4–5-star hotels

Córdoba was the undisputed capital of Sephardic brilliance during its Golden Age — a centre of knowledge, science, and philosophy in the Western Caliphate. A visit here is a journey into the legacy of great figures like Maimonides and includes the remarkable medieval synagogue.

The entire Jewish Quarter itself is a living monument, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Jaén, birthplace of the renowned scholar and diplomat Hasdai ibn Shaprut, played a key role in Andalusia’s Jewish Golden Age. Once a vital frontier between Al-Andalus and Castile, its Jewish community thrived in trade and culture.

The tour explores the old Jewish quarter—today’s Santa Cruz neighbourhood—and ends at the Menorah Monument in Plaza de los Huérfanos, a moving tribute to Jaén’s Sephardic legacy.

Arrive in Granada in the afternoon for a private tour of the Alhambra, Spain’s most visited monument. After the visit, enjoy a walk through El Realejo, the city’s old Jewish quarter, where traces of its rich Sephardic past can still be seen along its streets.

– Accommodation in 4–5-star hotels

To conclude your journey, a private transfer will take you to the airport for your departure.
